I work in a variety of media, including hand built ceramics, enameled copper, carved stone, printmaking and mixed media. As the owner of Clio Ancient Art and Antiquities, which has its own Etsy shop, I find my work constantly influenced, sometimes subliminally, by my art history background.
I always seek out connections between the arts of the past and those of the present. This searching influence has come through in all my work and I hope that you'll see some of these connections as well. The process of human creativity and artistic expression is ever changing but always drawing somehow upon the visible past. It unites humans across continents and across time in profound ways that are much stronger than the differences it reveals. We need only look to experience this unity.
My sculptural and ceramic works and works on paper have been shown in many exhibitions, and have been purchased by a range of customers, including other artists, academics and collectors. In 2016 I was recognized by the Wilmington Art Association with a scholarship award. I'm originally from Northern California and I've lived in Europe and Latin America at various times in my life. My work may be viewed and purchased in several galleries in my current home town of Wilmington, North Carolina
I welcome any questions or thoughts you might have on my work, and hope you'll find some value in my blog entries and the images I post. Thank you for visiting.
